Gerard Butler net worth & biography:
Gerard Butler comes with an estimated net worth of $15 million dollars. He’s 6’2 and weighs 187 pounds. Butler was raised by his mom using a strict Roman Catholic upbringing. As a young lad he was interested in the artwork and joined the Scottish Youth Theater. His first part was as a a street urchin in the creation of Oliver!. Although the young boy loved the arts, Gerard did not believe that a profession as an actor was a real profession. Coming from Scotland, there weren’t many big time Hollywood celebrities that the young boy could look up to that were from his home country. Butler determined to please his family and take the standard route in life. Butler graduated near the highest part of his high school course, and registered to the University of Glasgow. Butler graduated with honours with a diploma in law.
After school, Butler took a year off to travel the planet. Butler returned to Scotland and started his two-year trainee system at among Edinburgh’s top law firms. While employed as a trainee, he understood how much he despised the profession, and he fell right into a depression which eventually influenced his work. While attending the Edinburgh Film Festival, Butler fell in love with performing all over again, and understood that was what he need to do. A week before he was to conclude the trainee system, he got fired.
Butler worked odd jobs to support himself while following his vision. Obviously, he did an awesome job and got the part. Later, Butler got the lead part in Trainspotting, the stage performance of the film he saw in the Edinburgh Film Festival that inspired him to return to playing.
Gerard Butler transitioned to movie and got parts in movies that that were not any commercial successes. It was only when Gerard played King Leonidas in 300, that Butler became a prominent performer in Hollywood. When reflecting on his life Gerard says, ” I was not going to be an actor. Gerard would be a lawyer… There clearly was something else at work, something Gerard did not have control of. If Gerard hadn’t [messed] up that occupation, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now. Gerard might be quite average attorney in a few small town in the centre of Scotland.”
